It's just part of a new mix methodology. i.e., actually using what we learned in the old androstenone tests, as well as combining it some new tech.MX292 wasn't supposed to work as well as it did for most people, btw. It was a " PheroBomb " mix. It was just supposed to be a "proof of concept" type product, that would hit men over the hit with obvious, but unstable results (and what's more obvious than instability?)
...
We're slowly but surely getting to the point where we can deliver a more of the "fantasy" type uses of pheromones that you've typically seen in movies, or on the fraud websites. I don't think we'll ever have women falling out of trees or anything quite that dramatic, but there's much you can do with actual positive attention.
...
What you're getting with Ammo 1.x was what I often have as my design goal for a good daily wear product. No fireworks, per se, but something good and usable as a solid tool. Almost like what Panasonic Toughbook is to the laptop world.
Mind you, we can rework our new learnings in an even more effective " Ammo 1.x". That's not out of the question.
Again, I very much like mixes I can easily use on a daily basis, too. I didn't mean to imply that MX292 itself in any way replaces a good daily mix, but rather that the new mix methodology does have some advancements that are useful for people looking for a product that more closely matches what they see in movies like Oceans 13.
Normal Ammo won't do that, but MX292 and later mixes sometimes can get awfully darn close.
Now as for the original design goal of Ammo ... which is to be an easy to use, all around "attractive" product. Ammo 1.x as it now stands misses the mark for me a little bit, since I often have to add other products to it to get the right result.
While most of our products are made to work together, yes, that wasn't the design goal with Ammo . Ammo I wanted to be more "all in one". Not everything to all people, mind you, but you know... very, very easy to use. ...
I've changed the definition of what I want Ammo 2.0 to be, btw .I want it to be first and foremost social, and no more sexier or attractive than we can make it without creating "negative fallout".
As you know, heavy androstenone products can have negative fallout for both yourself and people around you. If a product like that ever became popular, we'd basically be creating what I deem as "emotional pollution".
When I have so many great social molecules available, I think I can do something better than that. I think I can both make the wearer very happy with what they get on an individual basis, give them enough social training to make them more effective in life (and others happy with them), and also create enough of a "social aura" around them with upbeat, feel good molecules, so that "innocent bystanders" benefit, too.
The idea behind Ammo 2.0 has basically been to have something sort of like "positive schrapnel". You know how schrapnel is normally not any fun? Well, what if it could be?
...
Well, it won't be discontinued for "reporters" (or what I like to colloquially call "pheromone detectives"). I've written about that before in regards to Ammo 1.x, because I know a lot of people like the simplicity of the formula.
Most of the products you see here now, will, however not be continued in a "commercial" sense. This project is being broken off into (as things stand now, anyway) at least 2 parts.
First, a non-profit organization for pheromone and scent research (much like Monell Chemical Senses Center), where you'll still be able to participate in research, and also be able to get older mixes (as long as you've been a "reporter", i.e., a participant in the research aspect of things here).
Second, it will be broken a commercial project (or projects) where the intent is to reduce loneliness and increase the adventure quotient of the average person. i.e., a "business as a positive instigator of social change" type org. "Business with a purpose"
Call them "B Corps", if you will, although I've always done business like this. I've never solely had a money motive, cuz I just don't know what to do with the stuff other than make new and better things.
...
Anyway, so as long as everything goes as planned, the sort of uncomfortable hybrid of both consumer sales and research that you see now will be gone. There'll be an area for consumers, where sex effects hopefully won't take an sort of center role, and a store and discussion area for those involved in the R&D... where you can indulge in any application that interests you.
Basically, the idea is to use mainly social mones to help make a difference in the world. Whereas, at the nonprof, we'll continue the research in a very similar way as to how we've done it here, only a little more officially. Nonprofs do have stores, btw, and again, we'll keep key "golden oldies" available to the folks here who helped give us feedback. I want to make sure those who have contributed useful feedback are treated very well indeed.
