My mix calculator software has been out for a while and I hope that people are finding it useful. I noticed that a lot of Mac and Linux users were unable to use it as the software was written in VB.NET for Windows based systems.
So, I decided to create a version of mix calculator that would run on all operating systems. I spent quite a bit of time thinking about the best method and eventually decided that a Google spreadsheet based app would be the best option. This way the calculator is available online and can be accessed from any computer that can connect to the internet and has a web browser installed (like IE, Firefox etc.). All you need to access the online mix calculator (OMC) is a gmail account which is freely available.
The development is complete and I am ready to release it. It is in the form of a spreadsheet which runs a script in the background. Google allows you to share the spreadsheet online to any number of users. The downside is that only one user can edit the spreadsheet at a time, which I don't like. So what I will do is allow you to copy my script and the spreadsheet to your own google documents. Then you will also be able to modify the script and spreadsheet as you please.
Sounds great? Well, here's the downer. It won't be free.
I have spent a considerable amount of time working on these mix calculators, so I have to attach a cost to it to keep me motivated as well. So, what you need to do to get your hands on the OMC is paypal $10.00 to my account smellscent at gmail dot com and then send me an email to the same account from your gmail id. Then once I check my email I will send you an invitation to share the OMC with you.
